WACOM Components Presents Penabled™ Technology at Microsoft's CeBIT Booth

At CeBIT 2003, WACOM Components will be showing their range of Penabled pens for the new Microsoft Tablet PC. Visitors can see the pens at the Microsoft booth A25 in Hall 4. WACOM's Penabled pens, allow the user to work comprehensively, intuitively and input directly onto the Tablet PC display, and use new applications such as taking handwritten notes whilst in meetings or on the move.

WACOM is the leading supplier of the pen input technology for the new Microsoft Tablet PC and today, leading manufacturers such as Acer, Fujitsu Siemens, Toshiba, Xplore and Viewsonic all employ WACOM's patented Penabled? technology in their Tablet PCs.

In Europe, WACOM markets four product lines under its own name: the Volito and Graphire2 Pen & Mouse Set for consumers, the Cintiq Interactive Pen Display as well as Intuos2 Graphics Tablet System for the professional market.

Highlight at the show is a new Executive Pen which has been developed in cooperation with A.T. Cross Company, the leading manufacturer of fine writing instruments. The pen is sleek and has a modern metallic look, a pocket clip and a single side switch that can be programmed to work as right mouse button. As the other WACOM pens, the pen has 256 levels of pressure sensitivity, is cordless and batteryless. It also has an electronic eraser and works with all Tablet PCs using WACOM Penabled technology.

With this Executive Pen, mobile users can fulfil high quality and design demands and heighten the feeling of using a "classical" pen right on their Tablet pc. As well as entering text, the digital pen also allows users to use all functions that are typically done with a mouse such as open applications, select text and display menus.
