Pen Input is back!

Mobile Devices: Opportunities & Challenges in Asia Pacific

Speaking at IBC's Mobile Devices conference in Hong Kong 10/11 June 2002, Justin Staines Sales & Marketing Director WACOM Components will highlight the dramatic resurgence of the Pen Input revolution.

Mr Staines will provide an insight into the Pen input history, the driving market forces and case studies reaffirming how the next generation of mobile devices will enhance the Human user interface criteria.

"WACOM's patented electromagnetic resonance technology is setting the standard for pen input technology in ruggedised mobile consumer appliances. We have been supplying our technology integrated with LCD's since 1985 into various mobile pen computers, and it was only a matter of time that our technology has been adopted into high volume fast moving consumer goods products like the new Tablet PC," said Mr Staines. "Older traditional technologies like 6 wire resistive don't offer the technical advantages of an embedded solution like our EMR technology does. It has to be the number one choice for next generation mobile devices, which have to cope with the harsh environment that everyday life throws at them."

WACOM has for over 20 years been at the forefront of pen input technology and is today the world leader in the manufacture and design of pen interface products.
