Controllers

The ground-breaking Wacom CapPLUS™ controller uses a state-of-the-art, proprietary mixed signal ASIC and sophisticated Reversing Ramped Field Capacitive (RRFC™) sensing, filtering and anti-drift techniques. It is designed to smoothly integrate with Wacom CapPLUS touch panels.

The controller offers serial+USB capability and can be stocked, shipped and serviced separately from the touch panel. It also has mechanical dimensions that are compatible with industry-leader controllers, and meets all typical regulatory requirements.

USB/Serial Hot-Switch

With the CCB-002-01B controller, Wacom CapPLUS implements a USB/serial hot-switch feature. This allows for smooth use of both USB and serial interfaces (for example with standardized touch monitors that need to feature both interfaces) and also eliminates the need for Wacom customers to manage hardware changes or multiple part numbers during integration.
USB is the default interface if both interfaces are connected to the host PC. Under USB operation, power is provided to the controller via the USB bus. Under serial operation, the controller requires     5-12VDC external power.

Native USB HID

The USB interface is compatible with Windows HID Digitizer standard. Under Windows versions from XP Tablet Edition and forward that support Digitizer and Touch features natively, the Wacom CapPLUS controller needs no driver and supports all features including “flicks”. The controller is also capable of being put into Touch Mouse mode which is recognised by all versions of Windows from XP upwards again without the need for a separate driver.

Serial PnP

The serial interface is compatible with Windows standard for serial (RS-232C) plug-and-play and will enumerate automatically within Windows on connection. A driver is always required.
